چکیده

Turbot aquaculture production is an important economic activity in several countries around the world; nonetheless, incidence of diseases, such furunculosis, caused by etiological agent A. salmonicida subsp. salmonicida, responsible for losses to this industry worldwide. Given perspective, study aimed evaluate early immune responses turbot (S. maximus L.) following infection with salmonicida. For this, 72 fish were individually weighed and randomly distributed into 6 tanks a circulating seawater system. bacterial challenge, half individuals (3 36 individuals) infected using peritoneal injection suspension, while other injected PBS kept as control group. Several factors linked innate response studied, including not only haematological (white blood cells, red haematocrit, haemoglobin, mean corpuscular volume, cell haemoglobin concentration, neutrophils, monocytes, lymphocytes, thrombocytes) oxidative stress parameters, but also analyses expression 13 key immune-related genes (tnf-α, il-1β, il-8, pparα-1, acox1, tgf-β1, nf-kB p65, srebp-1, il-10, c3, cpt1a, pcna, il-22). No significant differences recorded or humoral parameters (lysozyme, anti-protease, peroxidase) at selected sampling points. There was neither any evidence changes levels indicators (catalase, glutathione S-transferase, lipid peroxidation, superoxide dismutase). In contrast, pro-inflammatory il-1β), anti-inflammatory (il-10), (c3) up-regulated, another gene metabolism (acox1) down-regulated. The results showed new insights about

Colonization of turbot tissues by virulent and avirulent Aeromonas salmonicida subsp. salmonicida strains during infection.

Preventing disease outbreaks in cultured turbot Psetta maxima L. caused by Aeromonas salmonicida subsp. salmonicida (ASS) requires a better understanding of how this pathogen colonizes its host. Distribution of 1 virulent and 2 avirulent ASS strains in turbot tissues was investigated during early and late stages of infection following an immersion challenge. To track bacteria within the turbot,...

Isolation of oxidase-negative Aeromonas salmonicida from diseased turbot Scophthalmus maximus

The first outbreak of dlsease due to an atyplcal Aeromonas salmonicida among turbot Scophthalmus maximus (L . ) in Denmark is reported. The causal organism was oxidase-negative, non-pigmented, and slow-growing. Additionally it differed from the typical strains in a number of biochemical characters. The mortality among turbot in the farm was high but was responsive to antlmlcrobial therapy.

Risk factors for infection with Aeromonas salmonicida subsp. salmonicida in Norwegian freshwater hatcheries

In 1991, a matched case-control study was performed in Norwegian freshwater hatcheries on risk factors for infection with Aeromonas salmonicida subsp. salmonicida, the causative agent of furunculosis. The study was based on repl~es to a questionnaire mailed to smolt producers, and included 30 infected and 66 non-infected hatcheries, matched by county. The odds ratios for infection with A, salmo...

Diversity and Homogeneity among Small Plasmids of Aeromonas salmonicida subsp. salmonicida Linked with Geographical Origin

Furunculosis, which is caused by Aeromonas salmonicida subsp. salmonicida, is a major salmonid disease in fish farms worldwide. Several plasmids found in this bacterium confer phenotypes such drug resistance and virulence. Small plasmids (pAsa1, pAsa2, pAsa3, and pAsal1) related to ColE1- and ColE2-type replicons are usually present in its normal plasmidome. In the present study, with the objec...

It occurs in the Baltic and in the Mediterranean, as well as in the Black Sea, where a subspecies Psetta maxima maeotica has been described (1). It also exists in the Sout...
